Build a robust and scaleable augmented reality (AR) app for use across Philips’ global events. The app should use ‘best in class’ computer vision technology and provide guests with brand and product content in an intuitive and seamless way. Content should be updateable via a Cloud Based custom built Content Management System, allowing the app to be updated easily across different events.
We developed an iOS tablet based Augmented Reality app using the leading edge, Vuforia computer vision engine. The app provides rapid printed marker recognition and feedback. The CMS currently enables the updating of static images, image carousels and video content. 3D model integration and control is currently being developed to support events during 2019. The app was soft launched earlier this year, and has featured at a series of events since then, with very positive results.
The Philips Explorer app enables the brand to add a cost-effect ‘digital layer’ of content to their trade-stands and exhibitions. Whether it’s repurposing existing online and brand assets or creating something bespoke. The app encourages guests to ‘interact’ with the trade stand, enhancing the emotional connection and building an element of discovery. With a list of new features currently in development, we’re certain the app will become an effective marketing tool for Philips going forward.
